The Difference Between Revenue and Wealth

Income can create opportunity. Building durable financial independence requires a broader view of ownership, obligations, planning and time.

Income and wealth are often discussed as though they are the same thing. They are not, and the difference matters more over time than it does in any single year.

Revenue reflects what is earned. Wealth reflects what is retained, structured, and built upon. An athlete can generate significant income during a career and still end that career without durable financial independence, if the structure around that income was never built with longevity in mind.

Building wealth requires a broader view: ownership, obligations, planning, and time. None of those are created by income alone. They are created by the structure applied to it.
